A Brief Guide To Advancement
Scouts progress is recognized through rank advancement, merit badges and other awards
Rank Advancement: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle.
-
Each rank has specific requirements outlined in the Scout Book.
-
Scout, Tenderfoot, Second and First:
-
This is the ‘Core of Scouting’
-
Special Program: Trail To First Class
-
“Every Scout should make it to First Class”
-
-
Star, Life and Eagle:
-
More elaborate requirements
-
Require Scouts to earn specific Merit Badges
-
-
After completing all requirements, Scouts attend a Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review before earning advancement.
Merit Badges:
-
Encourage Scouts to explore new skills and interests, from camping and cooking to robotics or lifesaving.
-
Some badges are required for Eagle, while others are just for fun and discovery.
-
To earn a Merit Badge, Scout gets approval from the Scoutmaster, works with a counselor to complete the requirements.
Court of Honor - in Spring and Fall we host a Court of Honor where we celebrate our Scouts and award Merit Badges, and Rank Advancement.
