Marin Sierra Summer Camp is a week in the mountains with your troop

  • Swimming in the lake, climbing, shooting archery, learning new skills, and earning Merit Badges.

  • Camp with friends, cook and eat together, and spend evenings around the campfire.

  • One of the best chances to try new adventures and build memories that last long after summer.

Winter Camp (also at Marin Sierra) is a weekend adventure in the snow

  • Try camping in a whole new way, test your skills in the cold, and have a blast with your patrol and friends.

Our Scouts also plan and host outings every month.

A Brief Guide To Advancement

Scouts progress is recognized through rank advancement, merit badges and other awards

Rank Advancement:  Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle.

  • Each rank has specific requirements outlined in the Scout Book.

  • Scout, Tenderfoot, Second and First:

    • This is the ‘Core of Scouting’

    • Special Program: Trail To First Class

    • “Every Scout should make it to First Class”

  • Star, Life and Eagle:

    • More elaborate requirements

    • Require Scouts to earn specific Merit Badges

  • After completing all requirements, Scouts attend a Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review before earning advancement.

Merit Badges:

  • Encourage Scouts to explore new skills and interests, from camping and cooking to robotics or lifesaving.

  • Some badges are required for Eagle, while others are just for fun and discovery.

  • To earn a Merit Badge, Scout gets approval from the Scoutmaster, works with a counselor to complete the requirements.

Court of Honor - in Spring and Fall we host a Court of Honor where we celebrate our Scouts and award Merit Badges, and Rank Advancement.
